This photo was taken by my Great Grandfather Richard George Read, and shows my Grandmother (Eileen) on her Mothers lap (second from right) with Friends on Sidi Bishr Beach, Alexandria, Egypt in 1929.
Richard served in the Royal Artillery and was posted to Egypt between 1922-30. My Great Grandmother, Daisy Preston, was a nanny in Egypt and they married there in 1927, Eileen being born in Abbassia, Cairo, a year later in January 1928.
