Description

This 16 x 12 inch acrylic artwork was painted in a Wednesday session of the Dowlais Visual art Group held at Dowlais Library. It was inspired by the work of John Uzell Edwards, one of the artists that group members studied as part of the Valleys Re-told project. It also connected to David Hurn’s wash day photograph. This artwork was exhibited at 4 different Valleys Re-told exhibitions. The group open day event at Dowlais Library, The Dowlais Engine House, The Cynon Valley Museum and a gallery in Neath.
I was drawn to the limited colour palette experimenting with shades of grey and beige.
