This is a photograph of a driving permit that was issued on the island of Malta to Royal Navy Sailor Charles Pope on 24th April 1935. Charles was a Stoker Petty Officer serving on HMS Douglas at the time of issue. Photographs and documents relating to Charles and his career in the Royal Navy can be viewed on line at the West Wales Veterans Archive. The document remains with the family.
