This is a copy of a photograph that was in the possession of Charles Pope a Royal Navy Veteran who served as a RN Stoker between 1918 to 1945. Charles served on board Destroyers, Cruisers and minesweepers at various times during his career. It is not known which ship this photograph was taken aboard other than Charles was serving on the ship at the time. Charles had many photographs of the scenes like this one and he may have been the Photographer or close to the Photographer at the time the photograph was taken. The rear of the photograph with Charles comment, along with other photographs and documents relating to Charles' RN service can be viewed on line at the West Wales Veterans Archive in the Charles Pope collection. The original photograph remains in the custody of the family.
