Caravan 1966

Description

A hand built caravan built from ash wood frame, clad with oiled, water resistant hardboard. It was very heavy and about 12ft long and 6ft wide. Ray Gunn's dad Wallace bought it second hand. This was their first journey to Wales and Wallace took the scenic route. The caravan was towed by a Sunbeam Rapier sport saloon car and the car was really struggling to pull the 1 ton caravan up Clee hill, Herefordshire. The radiator was steaming, so this photo was taken while the car cooled down.
