My great great grandfather Charles Robinson was born in Milford Haven in 1814. At the age of 9 years he went to sea (7 year apprentice in the timber trade, Baltic Sea). His father was Henry Robinson. His mother was Elizabeth Robinson (nee Endrius). I have no other information about his family.
This beautiful painting helps me to visualise a tiny part of what Charles' early life was like. Thank you so much for sharing it here.
In 1838 Charles came to New Zealand and became one of the early settlers here. He had a very exciting and interesting life, and passed away at the age of 80 in July 1894. He is buried at Paeroa, North Island, New Zealand.
