Description
Shelina Allibhai moved back to Wales in August 2022 from Reading to care for her ill mother during the pandemic. While she works full-time and manages her mother's care with family support, she finds the balancing act challenging and isolating at times. Shelina reflects on the cultural expectation for women to provide primary care for elders and how her situation was more of an organic decision than a planned one. Despite the difficulties, including losing some personal space and missing social activities, she remains optimistic about her future, appreciating the lessons learned during this chapter of her life.
