Description

The Ham, Llantwit Major, a property of the Nicholl family, was designed by the architect Matthew Digby Wyatt. It contained many notable pieces of furniture, visible in the collection of photographs taken in 1912.
The house was later leased to the Williams family of Bonvilston and in 1919 was sold to the shipowner Lewis Robert Turnbull of Penarth.
During the Second World War, the house was requisitioned and it was while it stood still untenanted after the end of the war that it was burnt down in 1947.
