This receipt was written by my 3G-Grandfather, John Jenkins; his wife, who annotated it with 'Settle[d]' om 21st April 1857, was Margaret nee Barber, 1814-1875 - his 2nd wife, they married in 1843. Their daughter Mary Ann 1848-1916 was my 2G-Grandmother. John's dates are not yet entirely confirmed. It's thrilling to see their handwriting! from Lesley Plant, May 2026.
