This is a photograph of a RAF Greatcoat dating back to the 1950s. Mr David "Dai" Griffith wore this tunic when serving in Germany with the RAF Regiment at Wildenrath and Gatow. Amazingly Dai kept some uniform stored away and they are a remarkable reminder of his RAF service. This particular coat was valued by the Gunners as it kept them warm in the bitter cold weather when on guard duty. Dai's memoirs of Cyprus and his time in the RAF can be viewed online in the David Griffiths RAF collection on the West Wales Veterans Archive at the Peoples Collection Wales website.
