Summary of the conversation
A brief discussion of the milk stand at Dyffryn Henlyn, Whitland, where Mefin Lewis was born. She is speaking with Ceirios Jenner in 2025.
The stand wasn’t near the cowshed but a bit further away towards Llanfallteg because small land parcels had been gambled by farmers.
Mefin only learnt of this fact when she was told by the History teacher at the Grammar school – Jim Mathias of Cwm Bach, Father of William Mathias the musician. ‘He asked if anyone us knew of some land that had been won/ lost in the bet?’ Mefin was surprised that it was some her family land.
Mefin remembers when the milk stand was used. Churns were taken there by a pony and small cart for collection
