Description
ACVMS:2010.46 A green helmet with red band and National Fire Service insignia. On the side the owners details are inscribed ‘R.L Salter 256957’. The National Fire Service was established in 18th August 1941 when all fire services were reorganised to provide a unified service for the country. This ensured there were a standardised and organised effort, particularly after the intense Blitz period.
