This photograph was provided by Mr Ernie Hughes, who served as a Fireman in the RAF at RAF Eastleigh in the mid 1950s. RAF Eastleigh shared a runway with the airport, and the RAF Fire section supported the limited fire and rescue facilities at the airport.
