This photograph was provided by Mr Ernie Hughes, who served as a 'Firefighter' at RAF Eastleigh in the mid 1950's. Ernie and his colleagues attended numerous aircraft crash sites during the Kenyan emergency. This photo shows the wreckage of a 49 squadron Avro Lincoln that crashed. Ernie was involved in the rescue and recovery effort.
