This certificate was provided by Ernie Hughes, who served as an RAF Firefighter in the mid 1950's. He was called up for National Service and signed a 5 year contract of service, so he could serve as a Firefighter. Ernie has kept photographs and material from his time in the RAF, which offer excellent insight into the life of a RAF serviceman, in the 1950s.
