Kiara Sullivan, Youth Arts Worker - Sparc
Description
This interview is part of our Valleys Voices Heritage Project, where we spoke to staff (past and present), volunteers and community members about their experiences with Valleys Kids over our rich, almost 50 year history.
Kiara Sullivan first joined Valley’s Kids at around 7 years old after moving to Penygraig. Through Bike Club, after-school clubs, drama, and play schemes, she found friends, confidence, and a second home. She became a dedicated volunteer, later studying applied theatre to follow in the footsteps of the youth arts workers she admired. In 2021 she returned as a Sparc staff member. Kiara believes Valley’s Kids and Sparc are essential because they offer safe, welcoming spaces, life-changing opportunities, and guidance that help young people—and whole communities—thrive.
