Interview with Amy Harrison, Senior Family Development Worker - Valleys Kids
Description
Amy first became aware of Valleys Kids while delivering the Families Connect programme at a local primary school, working closely with their staff. After a few years, a parent mentioned a job opening, which led her to join the family team.
She values Valleys Kids because its ethics, impact, and supportive environment feel like a second family, where work never feels like “just a job.” Amy sees the organisation as crucial in deprived areas like RCT, providing practical help, emotional support, and someone to listen.
Her favourite experiences are seeing the difference made in people’s lives and collaborative projects like the National Gallery visit, which brought the teams closer together.
