Description
These two advertisements from page 5 of Pearse's commercial directory for Swansea in 1856 show how businesses offered a wide variety of goods and services. In Albion House at 1 Temple St, H. & W. Hurndall are silk mercers and drapers, selling home funrishings as well as clothing for men and women. At 5 Castle Square J.T. Owen operates an observatory as well as making and selling watches, clocks, spectacles and jewellery.
