These advertisements come from page 4 of Pearse's Swansea Directory and show what a range of goods was manufactured in Swansea in 1856. W.S. Eaton at 4 Temple St is a silk mercer and linen and woollen draper who also makes and sells hats and provides funeral clothing. At the Beau Nash Establishment, at both College and Castle St, George Stevens makes and sells shoes, boots, goloshes and attaches Gutta Percha soles. The Swansea Marble Works makes chimney pieces of marble, slate and stone, monuments, table tops and fonts in Wassail St and has a showroom in High St.
