25. Coal waste dumped on natural ground

Description

Thisphotograph shows where the dark spoil joins the naturalyellow clay of the ground. There was no preparation of the ground when tipping began: it was simply dumped on top. This could lead to the tip becoming unstable after many years of tipping.
