Coal mining has all but disappeared in this country now. The last deep mine in Wales - Tower Collliery - closed in 2008. Many people thinkthis is a good thing with no place in the modern world for dirty, unsustainable sources of energy. The debate about the use of fossil fuels is ongoing.
