Letter sent home from the First World War by Owen Ashton of Llawryglyn, 11 July 1918 [page 1 of 4]

Description

In this letter, Owen enquires after friends and neighbours and is glad that certain boys have not been conscripted. He hopes that there will be no need for them to be called up. Owen tells his family that he is not in the trenches at the moment. He is glad to hear about his parents' trip to Llanidloes and hopes to be home soon to help out and get a little pony to take them to Llanidloes himself. He sends messages to various people back home.
