An undated letter sent home at the end of the First World War by Owen Ashton of Llawryglyn [page 1 of 2]

Description

Owen writes from the Thirtle Bridge Camp, Withernsea, Yorkshire. It is very cold but they have not had much snow. Owen and another boy have had to come from the cookhouse to from part of a parade. Owen went to the dentist on Saturday, he hadn't intended to go, but the Orderley Corporal gave him a warning on Friday night. Owen is now sleeping in a large hut, with about forty others. A lot of new ones are joining them here. Owen mentions people at home and will send his waistcoat . He suspects he will soon be on a draft, if the doctor passes him.
