Llantony Abbey, Monmouthshire by Amelia de Suffren

Description

Amelia de Suffren was the widow of a French admiral. She toured Wales in 1803 recording many views including this rather whimsical and fanciful view of Llanthony. These were then published as aquatints.
Her other views can be seen in the collection ofthe National Library of Wales including an interesting view of the Brick Works at Clydach.
