Great War volunteers at Llandrindod Wells, 1914

Description

A group of young local men who volunteered for military service in the Great War in 1914, pictured at Llandrindod Station before travelling to Hereford to enlist in the Herefordshire Regiment on 9 September. Some of the men are known: Emlyn James (kneeling in the front row, bare-headed), Tom Edwards (standing at far left, bareheaded) and his brother Frank (standing at left, wearing a trilby hat).
