Clywedog valley before being submerged by a new dam, c. 1965
Description
Part of the Clywedog valley in the hills above Llanidloes near Staylittle, pictured in the 1960s. The valley was to be submerged after the completion of the Clywedog dam in 1967. The dam and reservoir were designed to hold back winter rains and alleviate flooding of the River Severn.
