"Twelfth Night" Mask Society 1937
Description
The last production of the Mask Society was "Twelfth Night" by William Shakespeare. It was performed in 1937 in Trinity Methodist Church Hall which had a narrow stage, not suitable for plays but the Society adapted it by adding a platform at the front.
Later that year two key members of the society, Sheila Newton and John Gibbs were married. They moved to London and continued to produce plays, now at the innovative youth club that the Reverend Jimmy Butterfield had created in Walworth.
After the war they retuned to Penarth and the story will be continued in a new collection on this site " Trinity Drama Group, Penarth"
