Description

Transcript: Dear Ethel and Ern, Just a few lines in answer to your welcome letter I am glad to say I am quite well as it leaves me at present. I am sorry to hear Ern has been so bad I expect it is the bad weather you have been having. We have had grand weather for the time of the year but it is snowing like the devil this morning. I am glad Ern has plenty of work it is a pity it don't get a bit better at the forge. I expect Nell has told you I have shifted since I wrote last. There is a bit more to do here but we don't mind. I am limber gunner I have to do nothing else only keep my gun clean and oiled. I had a letter from Mother and she said about the Zep scare it was a go wasn't it. Dear Ethel I told Nell to tell you I don't like Oxo I had a sickener of that at Bangor Hospital but if you like you can send cocoa instead as a cup of cocoa is nice going to bed. I think the photo is good of the boys. Has Erny had is soldier's clothes yet tell him to keep on to his granny if he has not had them. I have not heard from Daisy lately I don't know whether I owe her a letter or her me. Well dears I think this is all the news for the present so will close with the best of love to you both and the boys from your loving brother, Charlie.
