Gunner M. Charles Jenkins, 1587, seved with the 121st Battery Royal Field Artillery. Transcript: Dear Ethel and Ern, I am writing a few lines to thank you very much for parcel I enjoyed cake and cigarettes well dears I am sorry I have not written before but I had an accident last Friday 2 days before my birthday I had two of my fingers caught [ ] but I am glad to say they are coming on grand but you must excuse the writing as it is a bit awkward. Well dear I am glad to hear you are coming al right and the babs but I am sorry to hear Ern does keep so poorly. Tell him he must cheer up and look sharp and get better it is good the baby is pretty good. Well dears I have not got much news this time. Give my love to Flo and tell her I am glad to hear Frank is quite well. Well must close now with the best of love to you both from you loving brother, Charlie.
