Description

William Giles Kempton was born in Wiltshire in 1873 and fought as a boy soldier in India and later during the Boer War when he volunteered at the age of 26 with his employers' son. This card was sent to his daughter Daisy Maud Lilian Kempton from the Front. This type of card was very popular with soldiers during the war and was probably embroidered by local women and sold to the soldiers.
