William Henry Thomas from Pontarddulais was a Private with the Second Devonshire Regiment. He was wounded on 1 July 1916 and this photograph was probably taken during his time recovering at a convalescent home. He is wearing the badge of the Second Devonshire Regiment on his lapel. Thomas was subsequently discharged from the Army due to his injuries.
