A Royal Welsh Fusiliers Platoon at Kinmel Camp, Bodelwyddan, 1916
Description
Here is a platoon of soldiers from the Royal Welsh Fusiliers outside number 19 hut at Kinmel Training Camp, Bodelwyddan. Their commanding officer was Second Lieutenant Robert Vernon Carter Williams, pictured in the centre of the front row holding a stick. Williams received a commission to the rank of Second Lieutenant with the 21st Reserve Battalion whilst in France and returned to Wales to undergo training at Kinmel between 5 March and 25 July 1916, before being posted to Ireland until 1919.
