Gunner M. Charles Jenkins, 1587, served with the 121st Battery Royal Field Artillery. Transcript: Sunday, Dear Ethel and Ern, Just a few lines hoping you are quite well as it leaves me at present I received parcel quite safe and enjoyed pancakes they were a treat better than bread and jam. Dear Ethel I do not get any pain now but I thinks it was a change in the weather that done it. Dear Ethel they are looking for tradesmen to go in the munitions works so I am going to put in as a fitter and see if I can go. Our names have to go in by tomorrow morning they want any kind of fitters so if I can go it will be al right. Dear Eethel I am expecting another leave but I don't know when I shall come there are a lot to go in front of me so I don't expect to come for another month. Well dears I don't think I have any more news so from your loving brother Charlie, tell Nell I will write soon.
