Photograph of Private Charles Williams with his wife Ann Williams (1875-1951) and daughter Mary Margaret Jackson (nee Williams). Mary was born on 7 March 1914 and died 3 February 2004. Mary had two brothers, Henry and Robert (Bobby), this photograph was probably sent to one of the brothers. Robert was born in Capel Curig in 1886 and married Ann Williams in 1913 at the age of 23. They lived at Cil Melyn, Warden Street, Llanberis, Caernarvonshire. Private 345654 Robert Charles Williams, 24th Battalion of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers served in Palestine during the First World War and was shot in the head whilst walking to breakfast on 16 July 1917, he died of his wounds. He was buried at Deir El Belah War Cemetery - Grave D.24.
