John Owen Thomas (09.02.1897 - 09.11.1962) lied about his age in order to join the army. His father was also called John Owen Thomas was a sergeant in the Great War. John junior was married to Ruby Dennis and he worked at The Royal Arsenal in Woolwich. During the war he fell down a foxhole in Le Touret and broke his leg.
