Captain Melbourne Williams of the 14th Battalion Welsh Regiment was the officer in charge of 'A' Company at Mametz Wood on 10 July 1916, when John Henry Absalom of Camrose was killed in action. This letter was written by Capt Williams John's mother on 29 August 1916.
