Tua diwedd 1918 fe ddanfonodd capel Zoar, Pontmorlais, Merthyr Tydfil, lythyr a rhodd o £1 i bob un o'r aeloadau a oedd yn gwasanaethu yn y Lluoedd Arfog. Ysgrifennodd J Davies y llythyr hwn i ddiolch i'r capel ar 13 Tachwedd 1918, o Kildare, Iwerddon.
