Description

This article from 1974 expresses confidence in the long term future of the Hotpoint Factory at Llandudno Junction. The company claims excellent worker-managment relations, with no recent strikes, full order books and the workers sharing in the company's profits. In addition workers have acess to cheap canteen meals, holiday bonuses, high wages, a well-supported social club and modern working conditions.
The Llandudno Junction factory produce washing machines aimed at the British market rather than continental Europe. While foreign firms control 49% of the British washing machine market, Hotpoint is aiming to enlarge its share of the market.
