The Red Admiral butterfly, Vanessa Atalanta is mainly a migrant to Britain and Ireland but adults can over winter here. It lays it's eggs singly on the upper side of nettle leaves and makes a shelter in the leaf on which it feeds on. Julia Gunn reared this one at Yr Efail, Ceinws, Esgairgeiliog, Powys, Wales in 2025.
