My dearest friend
Only a line, for I may be off to Swindon [?] in a few minutes.
Thank you for the M.S.S..
There was much that was useless in it, but served a useful purpose. At present I am busy on an entirely new one.
Literature [underlined]has not yet
returned my article as feared [?] it would when I found that it consisted of reviews only. We shall see.
I hope you continue as happy as when last you wrote.
As to [?] Mother, she is now at Swindon, so is Father. She will be home in a week, I think.
Write to [?] tell me your plans, your work, your thoughts ....
If you can, borrow money before you leave home, a pound or two.
Haynes is helping me to get coaching for a month or two in the vacation.
Goodbye. I am in a hurry.
