writing except one or two notes. It is painful, but I fear inevitable. No news from Speaker or Literature. but I had a nice letter from Perris. He seems in a bad way: anyhow he is not on the new Speaker.
Your Mondays' letter was good to have, as good as you expected it would be. It is so comforting to know you are

My dear friend,
I had a very pleasant long walk this afternoon from 12 to 5 with Morgan. That is how I am consequently feeling so well that your fears may die away.
Morgan, you see was very good company, and we kept

things going very well the whole time. We talked about the position of women relative to men. This we agreed, and I expressed an admiration for what I considered some of the characteristics essential to women, he thought them eternally inferior, even as the (illegible) part they

play in sexual intercourse seems baser and cruder than men (so he said): all the same there was an extraordinary amount of truth in what he said, so much so that I was convinced he was right tho I could not not possibly change my opinion.
So far I have still been unable to do any
