My dearest friend,
Thank you ever so much for your letter. You know how I love to be with you and Merfyn when I am far from care: it was like that. But I can say little in my letter now. I am seeing people all day long, but chiefly Macalister who is
Much concern about my position. His father (don't tell a soul) is thinking of setting up a publishing firm in about 6 months, Macalister thinks I might act as reader. It is a kind and practicable suggestion.

Kisses as wine.
Ever wholly yours
Edward
