My dear Gordon,

Are you able to look over these proofs
for me? I send them in the hope that
you can, as I know you will if you are well.
The stuff is worse than I thought. It is full
of nasty jingling rhytjms besides belonging to
the past in its endless description with
an insufficient thread running through &
no connecting links. It ought to have been
published as soon as written a year ago &
so I might have been spared the annoyance of
pretending it is mine now.
