My dear Gordon,
You wouldn't promise to give me
Sturge Moore's pronouncement so I am punishing
you by giving you the book. But that needn't
disarm Moore. Also I send for inspection
a volume of Morris containing some things I
think you wanted to see. Will you forward it,
as if from me, to
Thomas Thorp

I thought you might like to see this book of
Burton's but if not enclose it to Thorp.
How are you both? I can't remember
when I last heard. But it was a long time
since then I think, unless it was after
the end of October I cycled to Wales & back
by Abercrombie's to see Frost who is using
part of the house, or all while A is away. I wish
you could sit up & talk for hours & that I was
near. Tell me when you can have me & I will
try to come.
There is little work that has to be done so
I do the other kind. Some day you may see it.
I kept making excuses for not trying to join the
army & know I am made to believe I should
probably be injured, but am none the easier for
it.
Now you certainly owe me a letter. This
however ought to have waited a few days but
I have to be in town almost up to Christmas.
Every yours & Emily's
Edward Thomas
