My dear Gordon
Many thanks for your letter. May I come to you for
about a fortnight on June 6, a Thursday? And if I do I
should like to see if possible all 9 of these books by Jefferies-
[crossed out 'Jack Brass Emperor of England '73]
'A Memoir of the Goddards of North Wilts '73
The Scarlet Shawl '74
Restless Human Hearts '75
World's End '77
Green ferne farm '80
The Dwy Morn '84

especially those under lined

The job is not yet settled & I have to see whether Jefferies'
widow & son will be helpful before I accept, though he was
so lonely a man that I shall be surprised if the
material amounts to much. And now I must work
away so as to be as free as possible when I come to
Cartmel. William Davies is coming here for a
week before that.
Yours & Emily's ever
Edward Thomas
