My dear Emily,
I am sorry at your news
but don't let Gordon worry a bit about
the essay. He will be in plenty of time
& there is no hurry. I simply wanted
to get all my chapters in hand to
arrange them & that lack of one or
two does not matter at all. I hope
he will soon be well & we shall soon
be wondering why it is not Spring yet.
Does he know Helen's mother died on last
Friday? We are all well but
Merfyn who is very weak & languid
we don't know why. But you are well, I hope. Helen's love & mine
to both of you. Goodbye - I am
busy with my toiling now & in
haste. Ever yours Edward Thomas
