The milk float on their daily rounds, Llanbadarn Fawr, Ceredigion, c1900
Description
While some rural families used most of their milk to make butter and cheese, farms nearer towns sold fresh milk.
Milk was transported in milk-churns in carts or on the railway. The churns were sometimes carried around towns in milk-floats.
The milk was measured out using milk-measures and poured directly into customers’ jugs.
