Description
This is a typed letter from Bethel English Baptist Church, Barry to the Barry Urban District Council in 1922 informing the council of a unanimous resolution protesting against their decision to allow buses and charabancs to run on Sundays.
The church members believe that this will lead to an extension of Sunday trading, travel and work and threaten "a national institution". Restful and worshipful Sundays are "this bulwark of our Country's moral purity".
It is interesting to note the references to England and English although this comes from a church in Barry.
