This is a picture taken in 2000 by Ben Brooksbank (Geograph member) showing the Dowlais Ironworks site 13 years after it closed. Merthyr Common is on the skyline, and much of the land shown is reclaimed from such as "Whitey", the huge slagheap that used to dominate the view.
