Description

These are pages 44-45 from the booklet Barry for Varied Enjoyment: The Gem of Welsh Seaside Resorts published by Barry Urban District Council Town Development Committee. The booklet is undated but probably from 1930s.
These pages give information about getting to Barry in the 1930s - either by the Great Western Railway via Cardiff, by bus, by road or by pleasure steamer. How do the rail travellng times compare almost 80 years later? The railway also offers holiday makers cheap excursions and day trips to surrounding beauty spots.
The photographs show some of the attractions available for children - traditional seaside entertainments - which make it "The Children's Paradise"!
